Publishers and authors may submit books that fit the prizes/awards categories as posted on the BC and Yukon Book Prizes website. Books must meet all of the general criteria for the BC and Yukon Book Prizes, and all the eligibility criteria for each individual prize. There are seven prize categories and one award given out each year. See Prize and Award Categories for details.
To be eligible, entry forms and fees must be received by, or postmarked, not later than December 1. ($30 per book, per prize category entered)
The Official Entry Forms will be available beginning July 15 each year, until the closing date for entries which is December 1. Books must have been published during that same calendar year between January 1 and December 31, for the six prize categories and the Bill Duthie Booksellers’ Choice Award.
Five copies of the book must be provided for each title and category entered. No copies of books are to be provided for the Bill Duthie Booksellers’ Choice Award, which is decided by ballot (see sidebar).
Books published by November 15 must be received in our office by December 1. No exceptions will be made. Books published between November 15 and December 31 must request a late submission of books option, in writing, on the Official Entry Form and indicate when the books will be available. The Entry Form and fee must still be received by the December 1 deadline.

Fill in the form online and print out the entry confirmation. The entry confirmation must be mailed to the BC and Yukon Book Prizes office along with 5 copies of the book and the $30 entry fee for each prize category entered. Payment only by cheque or money order made payable to BC Yukon Book Prizes or cash.
